Krzysia Górniak

Composer, Guitarist, Philosopher

Blue Bossa – New Single | Release Date: May 22, 2026

Released by G2 Records & Publishing, Krzysia Górniak’s latest mini album “Wonderland” marks the beginning of the artist’s new series titled “Standards for Solo Guitar.”

Following two EPs featuring original compositions, Krzysia Górniak turns to jazz standards — songs that have accompanied her for years during jam sessions, home practice, and spontaneous musical encounters. “Wonderland” presents intimate and personal interpretations of classic themes, performed entirely on solo guitar.

The material was recorded using the artist’s favorite instrument — a Gibson 175D — paired with a boutique Carr Vincent amplifier. Mixing and mastering were handled by Wojtek Olszak at Woobie Doobie Studio.

The album’s distinctive sound is shaped by high-end vintage reverbs — Lexicon 480, Lexicon 960, and Bricasti M7 — giving the recordings spaciousness, depth, and an elegant, refined character.

The recordings were made in 2026 at the artist’s home studio in Magdalenka, with support from the Diuna Foundation.

“Wonderland” opens a new chapter in Krzysia Górniak’s artistic journey — a series devoted to guitar interpretations of jazz standards, where intimacy of sound, musical storytelling, and a personal dialogue with tradition take center stage.

Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra – new album out March 20, 2026

20/03/2026 – the album Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra will be released in music stores and on all streaming platforms. The CD edition is also included with the March issue of Jazz Forum magazine.

The project is acoustic in nature and designed for performance in concert halls and philharmonics. Jazz guitar improvisations are set within a rich, illustrative layer of strings, which build dramaturgy, color, and sonic space. It is music based on emotion, focus, and collective improvisation, where the boundaries between the soloist and the ensemble become blurred.

The album material comes from four original albums by Krzysia Górniak: Emo7ons, Feelings, Moments, and Memories – a cycle that forms a personal story about life, emotions, and the passage of time. The inspiration for this project came from the artist’s earlier performances with string orchestras, which opened a new chapter in her creative exploration.

Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra is a proposal for listeners who appreciate jazz in a concert setting, illustrative music, and the dialogue between improvisation and the classical sound of an orchestra.

Line-up:
Krzysia Górniak – guitar, Michał Jaros – double bass, Marcin Jahr – drums
Malwina Hendzel – violin, Małgorzata Kucharek – violin, Jagienka Jaskólska – viola, Zuzanna Konstantynowicz – cello

Sea Salt On My Lips – Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra

21/02/2026 – the premiere of the second single, Sea Salt On My Lips, heralding the upcoming album by the Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra. The album will be released digitally on March 20, 2026, while the CD edition will be included with the March issue of Jazz Forum magazine.

Sea Salt On My Lips has its own story – the composition was originally released on the album Moments, recorded in a jazz quartet format. The new version has been arranged for a jazz guitar trio accompanied by a chamber string orchestra. As a result, the piece has gained a more illustrative and spacious character, blending jazz improvisation with an expansive, atmospheric string layer. Inspired by sailing, the composition combines dynamic energy with subtle references to Polish folk music – rhythmic motifs of the oberek can be heard in its structure. It is a musical tale of space, movement, and freedom, rooted in the artist’s distinctive jazz language.

Interview with Krzysia Górniak for Top Guitar

“(…) Each of my albums was dedicated to a different story, “Tales” about travels through Europe during my student days, “Ultra” is a musical illustration of individual colors, “Emotions” is an album about emotions, “Feelings” is about feelings, “Moments” are moments from life, and “Memories” are memories of people and events that were associated with me in recent years. I have reached a point where some of the friends I knew live only in my memories. I already know that the fragility of fate is a part of life and the more we realize the inevitability of transience, the more we appreciate the time we have left. In the world of music, the departure of Grześ Grzyb was especially painful for me, because for the last few years we played together, he was part of my band, we can hear him playing drums on the album “Moments”. The ballad “Touch Of Your Soul” was written in August 2018, under the influence of pain after the loss of Grześ Grzyb. I wrote “My Indian Summer” in September 2019 at the end of summer, when we already feel the arrival of autumn, but it’s still hot outside, it’s a lazy time of solstice, something that is irreversibly leaving…”
