Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra is a project in which the guitarist’s original compositions are given a new orchestral dimension. The album presents a selection of the most important works from her artistic career, reimagined in arrangements for a jazz trio and a chamber string orchestra.

The project is entirely acoustic and designed for performance in concert halls and philharmonic venues. Guitar improvisations are embedded within a rich and evocative string texture that shapes the music’s dramatic arc, colors, and sonic space. It is music rooted in emotion, concentration, and collective improvisation, where the boundaries between soloist and ensemble gradually dissolve.

The repertoire draws from four of Krzysia Górniak’s original albums: Emotions, Feelings, Moments, and Memories—a series that forms a personal narrative about life, emotions, the passage of time, and human experience. The inspiration for this project came from the artist’s earlier collaborations with string orchestras, which opened a new chapter in her creative journey.

Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra is a musical proposition for listeners who appreciate jazz in a concert setting, cinematic and evocative music, and the dialogue between improvisation and the classical sound of a string ensemble.

“I would like to present new versions of my compositions arranged for a jazz guitar trio accompanied by a chamber string orchestra. The selection of pieces reflects my personal taste and carries deep personal meaning, as it tells the story of different stages of my life. It speaks about the passage of time and the search for meaning and purpose. An important element of this process is improvisation. Under the influence of the rich colors and dynamics of such an expanded ensemble, the personal self—the ego—gradually disappears in the act of creation. This album represents, for me, a summary of thirty years of artistic work as both a guitarist and a composer.”
