Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra

Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra is a new project by the artist based on a jazz trio consisting of: guitar, double bass, drums accompanied by a string orchestra. The arrangements make it possible for a string quartet to take over the role of the orchestra in a smaller concert space. The project is inspired by the artist’s earlier undertaking Tribute to Nat King Cole. The work consists of 9 favorite compositions that Krzysia Górniak has written over the past few years, which were included on the albums: Emotions (2009), Feelings (2012), Moments (2016) and Memories (2020). The jazz trio performs themes and improvisations, and the string orchestra plays the role of a new harmonic and melodic layer, with its part based in its structure on the harmony of the composition. It plays the role of a backing layer for the musicians from the trio, builds color and dynamics, complementing and enriching the whole. Krzysia Górniak String Orchestra is an acoustic project, written on a grand scale, possible to perform in philharmonics, at festivals, as well as in smaller concert halls.
