Przemek Psikuta for the Jazz Forum magazine (July 2002):

The ”Tales” project was born in 1998 in Austria. It was brought to life by musicians from different European countries, who have met during their studies at the Jazz Faculty at the Dramma and Music University in Graz, Austria.

Krzysia Górniak – who has played the guitar since she was 10 years old and Evangelos Tzimkas – bass guitarist from Greece are the leaders and composers of this project, which is a debut album of Krzysia Górniak. The songs are like tales, very private, lyrical, reminding of an ECM style of jazz.

The melodies become a kind a matter, fluently processed by the players. The contemplation, reverie, a love for playing jazz or even instrumental pop or latino are here gently mixed. I recomend this album to everybody, not only for the jazz lovers.

Pat Metheny about Tales album:

“I have been listening to your CD (Tales) – and you all sound really good on there! Nice blend between you and I think it is great that you seem to be working hard on trying to get your own group sound and concept happening!”
